Measles Outbreak In Washington Causes State of Emergency

According to, dozens of people have been affected by a measles ourbreak that is currently spreading throughout parts of the Pacific Northwest. This outbreak of measles has motivated Jay Inslee, the Governor of Washington, to declare a state of emergency in all counties. According to Inslee, “Measles is a highly contagious disease that can be fatal in small children." The declaration will direct the state’s resources into handling the problem directly and doing “everything reasonably possible to assist affected political subdivisions."
