Bisphenol A, or BPA, is used to create polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. The plastics are used in food and drink packaging, as well as consumer products and medical devices. When repeatedly heated, as in a microwave, they can leach out BPA, exposing us to it. As such, it’s estimated that 93% of Americans have some level of BPA in their system. That's troubling, as BPA has been linked to metabolic syndrome and fertility problems. Unfortunately, Gizmodo reports a new study reveals that BPA-free plastics aren't much safer. A new study shows the plastics harmed the reproductive systems of mice just as badly as BPA. What's worse, the mice's offspring also had reproductive problems!
