According to UPI.com, women with higher blood sugar levels during pregnancy have children with a greater risk of obesity 10 to 14 years after birth. Researchers have also found that women with high glucose levels were more likely to develop type 2 diabetes later on in life even if the levels originally were not high enough to be considered gestational diabetes. These new findings have been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The study followed mothers and their children 10 to14 years after birth from 2013 to 2016.
